What Happens on a Fam Trip

Author: Philip Banks

When I tell people that I work for a travel agency, they usually comment that it must be great to be able to visit so many great vacation destinations. Travel is a wonderful perk of my profession. While we do get discounted and sometimes free vacations, Fam Trips are another travel perk we get. Cruise lines, tour companies, and convention and visitors bureaus sponsor these Fams, short for Familiarization Trips. A typical Fam will have 10-30 agents on it with one representative (leader) from the sponsor. On a three-night trip we will complete 10 –20 site inspections (aka resort inspection). The second article in this newsletter is a detailed diary of what happened on a Cancun Fam I attended 4/30 to 5/3.

As I am writing this article, the Fam is still two weeks away. While I have not seen an attendance list, I already know some of the people who will be on this trip. Granted, I don't know their names yet but I know their characteristics. Let's meet them now.

Rhonda Rep – Rhonda is the representative of the Fam's sponsor. She is fun, efficient, and patient. She will try to make sure everyone has fun while learning about Cancun and the Mayan Riviera

Tommy Trashed – Tommy will close the bar down the first night. The next day, as we are touring resorts, he will be worthless. As the day drags on, he will stop walking the properties we inspect and opt to wait for us in the lobby. Luckily, he will recover in time to hit the bar when we get back to our resort for the night.

Lucy Late – Even though Rhonda is on a very tight schedule, Lucy will show up to the bus that takes us on our site inspections 20 minutes late. After the inspection, when it is time to go to the next resort, Lucy is not on the bus. After much searching, she is found in the gift shop. She found a little knickknack she had to have.

Vicky Veteran – Vicky has been in this business forever. She booked Noah's cruise for him. In fact, she has been in it so long, she can plainly see that the whole industry is going to Hades. Resorts aren't as nice as they used to be. The travel perks have gone way downhill compared to what they once were. This Fam is a disgrace compared to what she is used to.

Nancy Noshow – Nancy paid $495 for a travel agent kit that included an ID card. She was told that the card would allow her to travel at a very low cost. Nancy has no intention of attending the site inspections because she does not sell travel. While everyone else is inspecting resorts, she is lying on the beach. On day two of our trip Rhonda will read her the riot act. Nancy ends up having to pay the resort for her stay.

Nora Newbie – Nora is brand new to the travel industry. Everything seems exciting and beautiful to Nora. Vicky befriends Nora and helps her see how really lousy the resort, food, and service really are. By the end of the trip Nora wishes she had been in the industry before everything was ruined.

Henry Hotelier – Henry works for the resort. His job is to show the resort to the travel agents. Upon arriving, Rhonda apologizes for our being late, see Lucy, and explains to Henry how we are way behind schedule. If each site inspection is completed in 40 minutes instead of the 45 minutes that was scheduled and we take a few more shortcuts, we should be able to make our evening dinner commitments on time. Henry smiles and assures us that it should not be a problem. An hour and ten minutes later, Henry is trying to show us the sixth of his eight specialty restaurants. Henry does not want you to be late to his resort but once you are there, he wants you to see every nook and cranny. If it shortens a site inspection at another resort, so much the better.

Please read the second article in this newsletter to see what happened on the Fam Trip.

On April 30th Philip Banks went on a three-night familiarization ("Fam") trip to Cancun/Riviera Maya. Here is an inside look into what happens on these trips. The names have been changed to protect the innocent (and the not so innocent).

Wednesday, April 30th

9:00 AM: My itinerary says to check in at the airport no later than 8:00 AM. Since I know who puts these itineraries together and know that she sets the check in time much earlier than is needed, I have my wife drop me off after we take the kids to school. I check in at 8:30 for a 10:20 flight, plenty early enough. One of my friends from the host tour operator's airport department asks me to return a display that was mistakenly left in Dallas to the Great Parnassus Resort. I am chosen because I am male and therefore am only checking one bag of my own. We are only five minutes into the journey and another agent on my fam has come up and said "Hi Philip!" I have no idea who they are. I am terrible with names, especially travel agents on a fam. Got a Pepsi and found an outlet to charge ipod.

10:00 AM Here is a tip, be sure to check which gate your plane is leaving from. I have been waiting at D12, where this flight normally leaves from, but today it is leaving from B15. I meet up with our host (we will call her Rhonda Rep). She is one of my favorite people in the world. I chose this fam because I thought she might lead it. There is also another Fam on this flight from the same host tour company as ours. They will be visiting only the Karisma Resorts (El Dorado Royale, El Dorado Seaside Suites, El Dorado Maroma, etc…). We board at 9:50. I am seated next to Rhonda Rep.

11:00 AM We take off at 10:30.

Noon Still flying.

1:00 PM We landed at 12:30. Rhonda Rep and I talked the whole way. There was no need to charge up the ipod. Immigration and Customs are not too bad this time.

2:00 PM I left customs at 1:20 and made my way through the timeshare conman gauntlet (the area between customs and outside the airport). Once outside, I find our ground operator, Lomas Travel. Their turquoise shirts, white pants, and white ties easily identify them. I carry my suitcase to the bus. There is a strange rule that no one but the passenger and an airport valet may touch the suitcase. I am sure the airport valets negotiated this rule with the airport. I always feel bad for the Lomas employees because you can tell they want to help you but they can't. This puts them in an awkward position. Once on the bus, the owner of the El Dorado Resorts, I will talk more about him later, tells us that he is delighted that we are in Cancun. You can tell that he means it. Now that we are all on the bus, I can tell that there are about 12 agents on this Fam. Rhonda Rep tells our Lomas guide, "Make sure we are not late to any of these hotels", yeah….right. We are off to the Cancun hotel zone for the first site inspection.

3:00 PM We first walked through the lobby and a couple of common rooms of the Gran Caribe Real in route to the sister resort next door, THE ROYAL Cancun. This is my second time to see this resort. The first time was just before it opened a couple of years ago. This resort is FANTASTIC! We saw four different room categories and several restaurants. I have already learned something new. This place has a great restaurant called Chefs Plate, which has one large table with 18 places. There are no menus. Each day the chef chooses what will be served that evening. Lunch should be soon.

4:00 PM We had lunch in the Asian restaurant. The set menu was; sushi for appetizer, salad, crab and ginger soup, lamb chops, and fruit sushi for desert. They also had a couple of chefs put on a cooking show for us teppan-yaki style. The owner of the Real resorts, a fascinating gentleman who Cathi and I have come to know, came to welcome us to his resorts. I had hoped that he would be joining us when we tour and eat dinner at another of his Real resorts tomorrow night but unfortunately he has a previous engagement. He graciously offers to take Cathi, our kids, and myself for a ride on his boat next time we are all in the Cancun area.

5:00 PM The Real rep for Texas, who happens to be staying at THE ROYAL Cancun, also had lunch with us. She attended one of our staff meetings a few months ago. Since her presentation, Real bookings have gone up dramatically in our office. On the way to the bus we pass a fancy coffee bar in THE ROYAL Cancun. This bar looks just like the one I saw on a Holland America cruise ship I sailed on a couple of years ago. On the ship, I remember being disappointed to learn that the coffees in this bar were not included. The pastries were $4.50 and the coffees $5.50. I snuck in this one as my fellow travel agents continued to the bus. It turns out these coffees and pastries ARE included in the package. These all-inclusive resorts really are beating the pants off of the standard mass-market cruise lines. We get on the bus and head to the Excellence Riviera Maya.

6:00 PM Due to the extended site inspection and a longer than planned lunch, we arrived at the Excellence Riviera Cancun one hour and fifteen minutes late. As it turns out, the sales managers at the resort had no idea we were coming. There had been a communication breakdown between our Lomas guide and the resort. While Rhonda Rep was understandably not happy with the situation, I told her to look on the bright side. If they did not know we were coming, technically, we were not late. While the rest of the group toured with Henry Hotelier (see previous article), Rhonda Rep and I looked around a little on our own. She did not want to walk the entire property and I had stayed at this resort when it was called Secrets Excellence and toured it again recently.

7:00 PM After the 45 minute site inspection, we are back on the bus heading to our home for the next 3 nights, El Dorado Maroma. El Dorado Maroma is tied with El Dorado Royale for my favorite resort in Cancun/Rivera Maya.

8:00 PM When we pull up to El Dorado Maroma, 10-12 staff members are in the lobby to greet us. The general manager, food and beverage manager, the head chef, and many others are all there. The one that draws my attention is….well we will call her Suzy Sales Manager. She is a very close friend to Cathi and myself. She used to live in Dallas but moved to Mexico several months ago. We are given our keys. I am in the Mi Hotelito section, my favorite. My room is beautiful. I pride myself on accuracy and try to steer clear of exaggeration. From my patio to the water is truly less than twenty yards. As I am unpacking, I go into my bathroom. On the wall is taped thirteen 8 ½ X 11 pieces of paper each with one large letter printed on them. These papers spell out "WELCOME PHILIP". This is obviously the work of Suzy Sales Manager.

9:00 PM For our dinner, they had setup a special room between two of the specialty restaurants. Suzy Sales Manager, and the husband and wife team that own the El Dorado resorts joined our group for dinner. I said I would tell more about the owner of these resorts. It is funny to me that so many people try to look the part of success even if they are not.successful. This guy owns three of the best resorts in the world and is always in what I call "work clothes". He is very successful but does not feel the need to flaunt it. When I am in these situations, like this dinner, I try and keep my mouth shut and listen. There are only a handful of people in my oftentimes-weak industry, travel, whose opinion I value. At this dinner, I had three, Rhonda Rep and the owners of the El Dorado Resorts. These people are visionaries. Back to the dinner, it was an amazing set menu; Capri salad, asparagus soup (very good, always get soup at the El Dorados), Surf & Turf (filet & shrimp), a layered potato dish on the side and tiramisu cake for desert.

10:00 PM Dinner still going on. Trying to get to know some other agents. It is not easy.

11:00 PM After dinner, the owners of the resort, Rhonda Rep, Suzy Sales Manager, another agent I didn't know, and myself had drinks at the pool bar. Several funny stories are told. It was a lot of fun.

Midnight Went back to my room where I found six chocolate covered strawberries. Since I was not tired, I got a peach daquari and visited more with Rhonda and Suzy. After my drink, I went to bed.

After Midnight The clock alarm in my room went off at 1:00 AM. I suspect Suzy Sales Manager.

Thursday, May 1st

9:00 AM I slept well except for the alarm. For breakfast I had an omelet and fresh squeezed orange juice. The agent who sat with us at the pool bar last night comes over to say hi. Even though she has been a travel agent for a couple of years, I am calling her Nora Newbie. She is very happy and is always smiling. Since many agents on these fams seem bitter, Nora sticks out like a sore thumb. I hope she maintains her attitude. It is refreshing. It is almost time for more site inspections.

10:00 AM Everyone was pretty much on the bus on time, WOW. That is unusual. Vicki Veteran, another agent on this trip, has some problems with her room. If the complaints were valid, I would share them. In this case, they just aren't true. Vicki just likes complaining. Our first property will be the Valentin Imperial Maya. This is a large property. When we were here in January, the site inspection took an hour and a half. Rhonda Rep is really worried about getting behind after our first site inspection. As it turns out, Henry Hotelier does a great job and we are out of there after 55 minutes. I heard something I had never heard in my 19 years doing this. At the Valentin Imperial Maya, an oceanfront room may not have a view of the ocean. This is the only resort I know that says this. We are off to Catalonia Riviera Maya.

11:00 AM We arrive at Catalonia Riviera Maya.

Noon The difference between a standard room and a suite at this resort is night and day. The difference in cost is only $140 for a couple staying three nights. I called to tell my staff we can only sell the suite at this hotel. I overheard one of our agents ask a guest about the resort. The guest said it was a pretty good vacation but the food was so-so. Henry Hotelier showed us the Asian restaurant. It is red. So far the Henry Hotelier at every resort has shown us their Asian restaurant and they have all been red. It is time to go to El Dorado Seaside Suites for a site inspection and lunch

1:00 PM During the El Dorado Seaside Suites site inspection, the suite they showed us was the one Cathi and I stayed in last year. Henry Hotelier just said "Just because our rooms are oceanfront does not mean they are ocean view." Are you kidding me? I go 19 years never hearing this and I hear it twice in one day? It is starting to feel like a conspiracy. Speaking of conspiracy, Henry Hotelier showed us their red Asian Restaurant, In their defense, El Dorado Seaside Suites was the first to have the Asian restaurant and the other resorts in the Riviera Maya copied them.

2:00 PM They took us to Hidden Beach. This is the nudist resort next to El Dorado Seaside Suites, which is owned by the same couple. I have seen the Hidden Beach brochure. None of the people in the brochure were at Hidden Beach on this day. It was not a pretty sight. I saw people eating soup. In those situations, the napkin is essential. I was pleased to go back to Seaside for lunch. Lunch took two hours.

3:00 PM The set menu for lunch was; salad with grilled sweet pepper dressing, cream of bean soup (outstanding), marinated steak, and a pastry sphere with cream cheese and mango relish for desert. I just heard from Cathi back in the office. We are swamped with business today, COOL! We get back on the bus and head to the Sandos Playacar.

4:00 PM We arrived at the Sandos Playacar on time, YEAH! This was my first site inspection of this resort since it became a Sandos. It has a new section called "Riviera Suites". While these suites are very nice, they are a long way from the beach. We also encountered one of my fam pet peeves at this resort. During the site inspection, Sandos Playacar's Henry Hotelier shows us a room that Funjet does not carry. Basically, Henry is telling us that if we want this room, bypass Funjet and call them direct. Funjet is spending money and time to put on this fam trip and Henry Hotelier just stabbed them in the back. There are many hoteliers who would give their eye teeth to be put on the Funjet fam circuit. These Henry Hoteliers need to watch their step or they will be taken off the list.

5:00 PM Henry Hotelier shows us a couple of their restaurants. One of them is the Asian restaurant and yes…. It is red. We got back on the bus, headed back toEl Dorado Maroma. We are still on schedule.

6:00 PM Arrived back at El Dorado Maroma at 5:20 PM. I got two mango daiquiris, this decreases the number of trips I make to the bar, and headed for my patio bed. Suzy Sales Manager stops by and we visit for a while. I went into the room to shower and change. 7:00 PM I lost track of time. It was 6:27 when I came out of the shower and we are due on the bus at 6:30!! I am never late. I preach to my staff that you are to never be late on a fam. It is not fair to Rhonda Rep to have to adjust her schedule because of your poor time management. So I always preach it and here I am, running WAY behind. I quickly throw on my clothes and arrive at the bus at 6:31. Four minutes from shower to bus may be a new world record. I expect a call from Guinness any day now. At 6:35 we are still missing an agent. When they call her, they wake her up. Since she fell asleep, she asks that we go on with out her. We are off to THE ROYAL in Playa del Carmen. We arrive at 7:00.

8:00 PM This site inspection is very similar to the one we did for THE ROYAL Cancun because the resorts are almost twins. While the rooms are different, I prefer the ones at THE ROYAL Cancun, the common areas are almost identical. This resort, just like its' sister, is fantastic. While I was not as thrilled with the rooms, Rhonda Rep assures me it is because I am male and women enjoy the ornate decoration, the location of the resort cannot be beat. It is right by 5th Ave in Playa del Carmen. That is the main drag that has all the shopping, nightclubs, etc..

9:00 PM During the site inspection I asked if they had an Asian restaurant. The rest of the group gave me a dirty look. As it turns out, they do have one and it is NOT red. It is white. We eat dinner at the gourmet restaurant atTHE ROYAL in Playa del Carmen, Maria Marie. I am sure this type of food is a culinary masterpiece but it is too fancy for me.

10:00 PM The dinner lasted over two hours. Since the table they had for us could seat 22 people, our group of 14 was spread out. This made chatting difficult. It is a small world. One of the agents that sat next to me knows Cathi's sister, Kim, and her Husband, Leigh Allen. This agent works in the same school district as Leigh Alan.

11:00 PM After dinner we had one hour to wander around Playa del Carmen. I bought three of those shirts that you don't tuck in at a little shop located on one of the side streets off of 5th Avenue. I was exhausted.

Midnight We loaded back on the bus and headed back toEl Dorado Maroma. Upon arriving, I went straight to my room. Since it was such a nice night I decided to sleep on my patio bed.

After Midnight: I woke up at 1:30 AM for no apparent reason. The sound of the waves hitting the beach put me back to sleep in no time.

Friday, May 2nd

9:00 AM: I really slept well last night. I woke up feeling great. I decided to order room service breakfast. Rhonda Rep invited me to eat breakfast on her patio. She did room service also. That breakfast was very, very good. I think it was the best meal I had on the trip. Rhonda and I watched the sea as we ate breakfast. Nothing is more peaceful.

10:00 AM: I signed up for an 80-minute massage starting at Noon, $120. Since the Mi Hotolito section is full, Suzy Sales Manager had asked if I minded if she shows our group my room during her site inspection this morning. I went back to my room to make sure it is presentable.

11:00 AM: My friend Suzy Sales Manager did a great job on our site inspection. I am very proud of her. Despite doing a great job, I try to throw her off wherever I could. She fought through my questions and comments.

Noon: After the site inspection, I went back to my patio bed and was lazy. I was able to get me sister on the phone to wish her a happy birthday. I also visited with Rhonda Rep for a little while on the patio. At 11:40, I got ready for my massage.

1:00 PM: The massage took place on an over water structure close to the Mi Hotilito section. I was told that there would be five different types of massage used in my 80-minute session. I have no idea if that is true because the massage was so good I fell asleep several times. One time I woke up and had no idea where I was. That is a good massage.

2:00 PM: The massage ended at 1:30. One challengeEl Dorado Maroma faces is that it does not have many restaurants. Since there are only 72 rooms, it can't support many restaurants. One restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Two others are open for only dinner. By having a strong menu for room service,El Dorado Maroma has created another strong dining option. They also offer unique lunch options four times a week. One day it is fish market. On this day, after my massage, I went to the beach barbeque. I had a very tender steak, chips with guacamole and a tossed salad.

3:00 PM: After lunch I got two strawberry daiquiris and headed to my patio bed. In case you have not figured it out, I really like the patio bed. I fell asleep. 4:00 PM: Nap

5:00 PM: Nap

6:00 PM: I woke up a little after 5:00PM. I called Cathi. She said we had another outstanding day at the office. I need to go to Mexico more often. They do better in the office without me around. I ran into the owner of the El Dorados and Rhonda Rep near the pool on the infinity suite side of the resort. While we were visiting, a guest came up and started talking to us. He wanted to know where we were all from. We exchanged our opinions of the hotel. The owner never revealed that this was his place. I went ahead and hit the showers earlier today. I did not want a repeat of last night. This time, I was the first on the bus at 5:50. We are off to Iberostar Grand for site inspection and dinner.

7:00 PM: I have stayed at Iberostar Grand once and this was my third site inspection. I was glad to meet this Henry Hotelier because Legacy Travel sells more Iberostar than any other resort chain. My two on-location contacts for Iberostar have both moved recently, one to the Netherlands and the other to Brazil. I need to develop a relationship with someone at this Paraiso Iberostar complex. This Henry Hotelier is very bright. This is a large property but he made it seem about half as big as it is by taking us to a balcony and pointing to most of the common areas. The one restaurant we did see, besides the one we eventually ate in, was the Asian restaurant, red. This is a very nice five star resort. The two things I wished they would change have not been changed yet (TV is still not flat screen and bathroom is too European for me). Dinner is at the surf n turf restaurant. At this restaurant, we ordered off the menu like everyone else. I prefer this because I want to have what my clients will be eating. Most places can't do this because we are a large group eating at the same time.

8:00 PM: I made sure to sit at Henry Hotelier's table. He is a nice guy. I feel I can call on him if I need any help at one of the Iberostar Paraiso resorts. For dinner I had a shrimp appetizer, Ribeye for my main and finished with orange sherbet. The dinner was excellent.

9:00 PM We left Iberostar Grand at 8:45 PM. Several of us are meeting at the nightclub atEl Dorado Maroma, Rick's Bar. This Bar is named for Rick Barton. Rick owned a highly regarded travel agency in Austin. One day Rick went home early because he did not feel well. When his wife got home, she discovered that he had died of a heart attack. Rick's wish was to have his ashes scattered on the Maroma Beach. The owners of the El Dorados, who were friends with Rick and his wife Kathy, decided to name the bar after Rick.

10:00 PM: A duo called "Déjà vu" is playing in Rick's Bar. I heard them play at an outdoor party when I was here in January. They sound ten times better inside than they did outside. I can't believe this caliber of entertainment is performing for 20-30 people. The entertainment at most all-inclusive resorts is usually cheesy.

11:00 PM: Still at Rick's Bar. Déjà vu is phenomenal. After they finish a song, the singer looks around the room and asks, "What do you want to hear?" A couple of people yell out songs and one is picked. My favorite part of the performance was when they were playing Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car". At one point during the song, the singer gets an embarrassed expression on her face and asks, "Does anyone remember the lyrics?" Everyone laughs and the audience tries to remember how the song goes. Throughout the night, that moment is eluded to several times, "We better not try that one. It will be worse than the Tracy Chapman fiasco from earlier."

Midnight: Left Rick's Bar at 11:45 and walked around for a little while. I went back to my room and decided to sleep on the patio bed again.

Saturday, May 3rd

9:00 AM: I slept really well again last night. I love hearing those waves crash as I am falling asleep. I checked out of my room and loaded onto the bus. Suzy Sales Manager came onto the bus to say goodbye. As we leave the resort, the bus stops at the front gate so Rhonda Rep can give the security guard she has taken under her wing an Ipod/MP3 device, which Suzy Sales Manager will load with English lessons. This young man looks to be 14 years old but I m sure he is older. His befriending Rhonda Rep convinces me that he is one of the most intelligent men I have met. The resort management, including the owner, have promised Rhonda Rep that they will help him learn English which will lead to his advancing in the company. On the previous trip in January, this young security guard brought Rhonda a picture of himself so she would remember him. Rhonda started crying and said that it was the sweetest thing she had ever heard of. Later that same day I was with Rhonda Rep when she looked theEl Dorado Maroma general manager and the owner in the eyes and said, "When I come back that little boy had better still be here." She was dead serious too. That little security guard picked the right person to befriend. That young man will go far. We are off to the EL Dorado Royale for our last site inspection and breakfast.

10:00 AM: El Dorado Royale has always had a special place in my heart. Other people in my office prefer El Dorado Seaside but they are wrong. On the business side, we sell a ton of this resort and get very few complaints. Happy customers become repeat customers and repeat customers are our lifeblood. Also, my favorite trip to Mexico was to this resort. We saw rooms in the new infinity section. These rooms are amazing and they each have their own private plunge pool. Again, the owner is nice enough to take time out and eat breakfast with us after the site inspection. He says that after he finishes this last section, currently under construction, he will be done building rooms here. He will still build a couple more restaurants but no more rooms. I am glad. This resort is almost too big now.

11:00 AM: Breakfast is very good. I feel terrible for my waiter. The owner, the General Manager, and the Head of Food and Beverage for the El Dorado Resorts are all at this breakfast when my waiter spills a glass of yogurt and fresh fruit all over theEl Dorado Royale sales manager who is sitting next to me. I thought he was going to die right there on the spot. It is poetic justice that this last meal of the fam be held in the Asian Restaurant. I did not make note of the color, odd. (Ed note: right before publication date, Cathi returned to theEl Dorado Royale. The Asian Restaurant is NOT red. We'll get back to you regarding the legality of the situation.) Rhonda Rep is getting nervous because of how late it is getting.

Noon: The owner of the El Dorados asks us to meet in a room off of the lobby. During this meeting he talks a little about each of his properties. To my surprise he ends without giving out a very important piece of information. After I ask about it, he agrees to discuss the topic even though he fears it may sound like bragging. Recently theEl Dorado Royale won "Best resort in the World" by the largest tour operator in Europe. We say our goodbyes to the owner and staff of theEl Dorado Royale. I can tell Rhonda Rep is worried. Remember that when we were flying to Cancun the person who put together the itinerary wanted us at the airport two hours and twenty minutes before the flight? We are now leavingEl Dorado Royale and it is 11:10 AM. Our flight leaves at 12:50.

1:00 PM: When we get to the airport, the airline people are not happy with us. We actually made the flight with a little time to spare but I do not know how. We met up with that other fam trip. They had a great time also. There is also a film crew from San Antonio we talked to who stayed in the Riviera Suites at the Sandos Playacar. I saw those suites on Thursday and feared that they were too far from the water. These guys say it is not an issue. They loved the suites and shuttles take you to the main lobby. They gave it big thumbs up…good to know. We boarded the plane and returned home without incident.

Aftermath: This was a very well behaved fam group. Tommy Trashed, Lucy Late, and Nancy Noshow were nowhere to be found. Two of my agents have since returned from their own fams with more colorful stories than what happened on this trip. My agents refuse to document these stories because of something about glass houses and stones.

If it weren't for two things 1) It is considered bad taste to try and hire away people you meet on a fam. 2) Legacy Travel does not hire people with experience (we don't like having to break the bad habits agents learn at other travel agencies) I would seriously consider trying to hire Nora Newbie. She is a sweet kid with a great attitude.

Lastly, I have not been sleeping that well. I think I need my own patio bed.
